President Trump Signs HBCU Executive Order

So the topic of discussion that many HBCU down south are having is President Trump signing the HBCU executive order which the order aims to help historically black colleges. On fox news you see President Trump say this has been a great month to celebrate African Americans, that education has the power to uplift and transform, and said this is going to build & work on everything African American. He said these are incredible like no other churches, colleges, and universities are very important like no other then tells a black man to come here he is his defender and that people are recognizing the importance of African Americans. He said he will make HBCU an priority of the white house and they will fight to support the opportunity to all our people.

Many people believe that this is an set up for something bigger, on Howard University yard some students had the opportunity to see Welcome to the Trump Plantation Overseer: Wayne A.I. Frederick. The President Frederick of Howard University responses to this vandalism on Howard Campus "Howard University is committed to the principals of free speech, public protest, and inclusively even though these ideals may sometimes conflict with one another. However, our commitment to the safety, well-being, and support of the Howard University community remains our highest priority. Freedom of expression is embedded in our founding principles. As a campus administration, we have honored this principle by defending the right of community members who express a wide range of often conflicting points of view. Howard University has long been a safe haven for such discourse, welcoming opposing views and providing a platform for stimulating dialogue among students, faculty, staff and alumni alike. Moreover, we are choosing to defend the right to free expression at a histroic moment our nation, when this right is once again of insurmountable importance".  See the attached image to read the rest

He talks about how he strongly oppose that vandalism is a form of free expression and the recent activities on campus will not be tolerated. The campus doesn't accept any bullying behavior and that as we learn to communicate with those who have opposing views, we must be sure that our tone and tenor is not rude or abusive. He asks members of the community to join him in conversation over the next several weeks to discuss campus relations that impact us all. In his letter you can tell his tone is serious but as the President of the school he doesn't let that get the best of him and still tries to stay leveled to the point where he wants to talk about other people point of views together.

In tweets with Howard University students you see @joeysixpack2001 say "well now in fairness to the honorable president fredrick, they coulda used store-brought chalk or any gothic soap"  and others saying that it is crazy that this is still going on but even more crazy because we see them everyday not knowing what they really are thinking, then you have the other students who agree with what is on the side walk because it was in response to HU meeting with Trump yesterday and how they don't trust this meeting or is promises because they compromised their positions as soon as they entered the Oval Office for a photo opportunity. Trump has a nasty habit of making people grovel to him, hat in hand, only to yank it away to prove he's got the power kind of like the HBCU funding his appointee Betsy Devos hinted at removing. This is something I feel is very important because rather the school takes a point to actually listen to the students and try to help them or are they just supporting President Trump for other reasons we don't know of yet. @JustWhatNowWhy on twitter with the picture of Hilary Clinton tweets "I am so sorry! This is beyond deplorable" with a picture that reads "Even white people are sick of other white people's Racist Bullshit."

Now to talk about Lincoln University with us being the first HBCU I do not see anything being discussed on President Trump signing the executive order and I do not know if this is because we are in midterms and getting ready to go on spring break or for the simple fact that no one cares about what is going on in the world. This could seriously affect us since we are an HBCU but no one is discussing this or maybe I'm just not in the right place to hear about it.
